General
Over 40% of adults in the United States have some form of gum disease, but they don’t even know it. At Windom Family Dentistry, with our menu of general dentistry services, we help our patients prevent or reverse unhealthy oral environments, preserving their smiles for years to come!
Professional Teeth Cleaning
Dental prophylaxis is a professional teeth cleaning procedure that thoroughly cleans the teeth. It is an important preventive measure to help stop the progression of gingivitis and periodontal disease. We recommend our orally healthy patients receive this type of procedure twice a year.
Wisdom Teeth Extractions
The best time to have wisdom teeth removed is during a patient's late teenage years or early 20s. These immature wisdom teeth are smaller, so surgery is less complicated and potentially less painful. If your wisdom teeth have not started to erupt, we will use x-ray imaging to locate them and determine if it’s time to have them removed.
Fluoride Applications
Fluoride application can help remineralize weak areas of tooth enamel. This procedure can keep your teeth more resistant to the bacteria that can cause decay and cavities.
Oral Cancer Screening
Tobacco users aren’t the only ones who should be concerned about oral cancer. Oral cancer is on the rise. That’s why at Windom Family Dentistry, we provide oral cancer screenings as part of your regular-checkup to all of our patients over the age of 18.
Extractions
Tooth extractions are a last resort, but sometimes become necessary. Dr. Windom and Dr. Lemke may recommend an extraction if your tooth is infected and can jeopardize the health of the rest of your mouth.
X-Rays
Our practice uses digital x-rays to produce enhanced computer images of our patient’s teeth, gums, and other oral structures and conditions. Digital x-rays are key to early detection and effective treatment of dental problems.
3D CT Scanning
3D CT scanning provides us with extremely accurate three-dimensional replicas of your oral anatomy, which prove especially useful when planning for dental implants, root canals, or wisdom teeth treatments.
